Description

This workshop is designed for mental health professionals and educators who will be working with and assessing students who are at risk for suicide. Participants in this workshop will learn theories of suicide and the importance of warning signs and risk factors and their differences, as well as the processes of risk assessment and safety planning.

This workshop is targeted for people that would like to gain more skills and knowledge in the field of suicide prevention and awareness. Students and educators in the education field such as teachers, administrators, school psychologists, school counselors, mental health counselors, etc. are all invited to attend.

This workshop is led by Dr. Michael Hass, a professor at Chapman University and licensed school psychologist. Dr. Hass has over 25 years experience as a school psychologist within the public school system. He currently directs the Chapman School Counseling Program and teaches advanced counseling courses to school counseling and school psychology students.

The suicide prevention training will be held on Chapman University's campus, in room 004 Doti Hall. Light refreshments will be provided for all attendees.
